Far & Wild Travel Joins IGLTA, Championing Inclusive Travel for LGBTQ+ Clients

This Pride month, we have joined the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA), affirming our belief that ethical, inclusive travel not only expands horizons but also helps build a more compassionate world.

“We know travel can be transformative, but we also know not every traveller feels equally safe or welcome in every corner of the world, or even in their own country,” said Laura Kay (she/her), Far & Wild’s Communications & Operations Director. “Joining IGLTA is part of our promise to help change that.”

This partnership is about more than a logo or a listing - Far & Wild is taking practical steps forward by using more thoughtful, inclusive language across its communications and providing staff training.

“It’s important that we back up our promise with meaningful action, not just performative gestures once a year,” Laura added. “We pride ourselves on our expertise, so this also means giving our team the tools they need to speak confidently about gender and relationships, and to advise clients on LGBTQ+ safety in all of our destinations.”

We are also actively highlighting destinations, properties, and partners that are genuinely welcoming to LGBTQ+ travellers. One such partner is The Liz McGrath Collection in South Africa - also IGLTA members - who have recently collaborated with us on an exclusive Garden Route itinerary and offer.

With members in over 80 countries, IGLTA connects LGBTQ+ travellers with businesses committed to welcoming them wholeheartedly. From hotels and destinations to tour operators and travel advisors, the network helps make travel more inclusive, empowering, and joyful.

For Far & Wild, the move builds on what we already does best: creating special holidays.

“At the heart of it all is something really simple,” said Laura. “We want everyone who travels with us to feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves. We want our clients to feel seen and supported, and to know they can always ask our destination experts about comfort or safety, knowing we genuinely care.”
